Lion trust
The Lilongwe Institute of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery (LION) Trust was established in 2016 to finance and run a new, independent musculoskeletal institute at Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) in Lilongwe, Malawi - to improve the treatment of injuries and musculoskeletal and neurosurgical disorders, and to train more qualified surgeons.
The Board has the overall responsibility for managing the institute according to the Trust Deed. The trustees are appointed by the Minister of Health after consultation with the organizations or interest groups they represent.
